Great talk, subject matter was particularly relevant to me and my team. Content was delivered in a very professional manner with some touches of humour that made for an entertaining talk. I look forward to seeing Stephan talk again.
Very inspirational keynote, I do however know that you could have delivered it better. There were several things off: pacing back and forth was distracting until you made the joke, you sometimes seemed to be reading rather than speaking, at some points the facts were not correct (But didn't matter too much)
These are all tiny nitpicking things, I'd like to give it 4.5 thumbs and chose to round it up to 5, all in all, excellent topic and well done <3
Interesting talk, but I feel that the demos with the waiting time would if you absolutely wanted to have it have done better as a recording. The recording could have been skipped so we didn't just sit there waiting for not much output. Other than that very nice! Well done <3
Also for future: Never rely on wifi for a conference demo, it worked out this time but it's too risky.
This topic matters a lot to Jenny, it shows how passionate she is when she delivers it. The ideas she had on us working together to make this community better, brick by brick building bridges really came trough well. A very confident spot on delivery, presentation was flawless and left many of us thinking about how we treat "The other PHP communities", something that many don't even realise. Well done!
Despite Chris’ edgy mannerism when I first entered the room, he delivered his session like a true professional. His talk was engaging, and nicely avoided the opinionated points we often hear about API design. His topic knowledge was outstanding and he shipped out a massive wad of advice on how to correctly build, manage and nurture an API. These things are very often thrown together without any real thought into the users needs. Chris laid out a number practical considerations when building an API that are often missed.
On a personal level, the message of “planning” really struck a chord. I’ve sometimes been a little hasty in the past with shipping API’s and had to endure struggle of maintaining a poor design. Everything you present to your clients becomes a dependency (and has the potential to be a breaking change). Plan and define a rock solid strategy from the offset. once it’s out there, you have to support it.
Great talk, fruitful of the guidance API developers really need. I look forward to seeing Chris on the (technical) stage again.
Hi All - Thanks for the great feedback! To address some of the points:
Andrew - Yes this slot was made available to Sainsburys as part of the platinum sponsor tier. However the previous talk I gave on logging was accepted via the call for papers.
Alex and others mentioning difficulty seeing the demo on screen - While the code samples and debugger had a zoom facility which I used, JMETER did not. However, I've since learned you can use a OSX accessibility tool to zoom into parts of the screen. Based on your feedback I'll be using this next time!
Regarding licensing, you are of course correct, I should have purchased a Sublime licence. I'm sorry the licence prompt appeared once during the demo. I'll make sure I have a license next time around.
Finally the two comments regarding a hiccup in one of my demo's, I agree this is a little distracting, it's hard to choreograph a 30 min live demo. I have videos of all the demo's I do 'just in case'. My rule is, if it doesn't work after 30 seconds switch to video. I was about to switch to a backup video before someone pointed out a missing semicolon!
This talk was by far the most enjoyable one I've given at a conference, as it feels like giving a personal coaching session to many people at one. The live demo is essential to this and your feedback will really help me tighten this up for future iterations.

You can see the word "inspiring" appear again and again in the comments for this talk, and with good reason.
A great talk to bring the curtain down on the conference
