Nice insights in Stack and iets origins.
I was expecting a talk about how to tie all those tools (phpunit, codesniffer, mess detector, phing, ... ) together, make a strategy for actual CI and how to implement it. Instead, it gave the building blocks with the solution still to be built.
Maybe I misread the introduction or was interpreting the title differently. It wasn't for me, but that isn't to say it was a bad talk. For someone unknown to those tools, it was a really good introduction.
I liked the presentation, it covered a practical scenario with code examples and comparisons to the PHP world. I'll remember the quote "Go is like programming in PHP4" as a reference to more functional programming (especially since I came from the PHP4 world).
Clear talk, good instructions. Go is still on my todo-list. Thanks for taking the time to put together a presentation and share your code!
Great preparations, everyone was up-and-running in 5-10 minutes. Kudos to that, as a lot of other tutorials have spent 1h+ on prep. Your vagrant boxes were a good example of how it should be done.
As for the content: for me, it was just perfect! I was fast-paced, highly technical, explained enough of the gotcha's to protect and left enough questions open for me to investigate further afterwards.
3 hours well spent on learning docker!
I liked Beths drawn-from-experience approach, which makes it quite relatable. Involving the audience seemed to work well also.
The main reason its 4 instead of 5 stars is because i personally didn't feel i gained much new insights, even though im by no means a buff on the subject. Also, in regard to the amount of text on the slides i would say: less is more.
Btw: Get well! :)
Good intro on the usefulness of Flysystem. Although i have no immediate need for it, it is definately something i will familiarise myself with for future projects.
His universal advice is very inspiring, yet practical. Don't break the chain!
It was an nice, honest and informative talk, but it could benefit from a bit more focused approach, i think.
I felt Benjamin tried to cover too much ground in one ..uhmm...go :)
Good talk, very relatable topics, thanks!
A nice introduction into neo4j as a graph database. Could have used a bit more introduction on when to use agraph database.
