Talk comments

Dropped directly from an intercontinental flight, straight into a conference room and giving this talk; I think Chris did a damn decent job!

Great content with a good explanation of the (dis)advantages of event driven programming from practical experience. I got some value insights I would have had to find out the hard way, otherwise.

Easily the best talk at the conference.
Rowan has always been an entertaining and engaging speaker and I think this is probably my favourite out of all the talks I've seen him give so far.

It has just the right mix of information balanced with humour and all backed up with great slides.

The only thing I would say, that I know you've had issue with in the past, is that using the back backgrounds can cause trouble with readability with the projectors. So the code sample was virtually impossible to read even from right at the front

A really good talk that delivered what it promised.
Thanks Andreas, hope you post your slides link soon

A great talk that put across these concepts in a clear and engaging way.
I wasn't even too distracted by Anthony's amazing shoes :-P
Well delivered, loved this talk.

Great delivery, useful introduction to a complex design problem with much food for thought to take away.

Nice overview of the possibilities of Guzzle; having not used the tool before, it convinced me to go off and have a proper look at it.
Thought the build up from simple to more complex and diverse examples was very good.

On the presentation side: please try to really look at your audience: we won't bite!
I know it's hard but pick one or two faces or the back wall to focus on. Looking away from the audience at your slides gives a very weird impression.
Next time, get some water on stage and take the time to have a drink every now and again. It also gives the audience time to re-focus.

Incongruous for a PHP conference (no code, even though the speaker teaches PHP), but interesting in itself. We would have benefitted more from being offered solutions to the problems presented instead of simply being scared away from putting anything online or having a smart meter fitted.

Still, the central message appeared to be "get involved in security, it's important" and that can't be a bad thing.

A great talk to start to the day, the hangover slot is always tricky!
I need to go over the slides again to make sure my coffee deficient brain did actually manage to keep up with everything. But it's always interesting to see the alternative approaches that people use, some good food for thought.

Really good food. It was a shame that a lot of the beers ran out but otherwise the bar was great as usual.
Thanks to Andy and Jenny and everyone else who organised games and activities.
The phpnw social is always great!

An interesting talk that introduced me a concept I've not heard too much about, I'm going to investigate more :-)
A few nerves but once settled Erika proved a very engaging speaker
