The variety of topics touched on at a high level was a great survey of "human" issues related to software development. Perfect fit for beginning of a conference. Could have been tied together more to a theme or outline but that could have detracted from the survey nature of the talk.
Your talk touched me deeply.
Don't know if you noticed, but I had on a php|women T-shirt on Tuesday. :)
Thank you for the talk it was a wonderful story
Contemplative talk about the community and where we're headed. Lots of nostalgia along with a bit of bit of bumps and bruises along the way with a hopeful look forward.
I finally figured out how to quit Vim! Seriously though, more of a talk about the importance of using your tools rather than specifically about Vim. Slides needed more contrast.
Great talk about things to think about when counting ants (or really anything else at scale). The text on most of the slides could be bigger.
There's no place like 127.0.0.1. Good talk about using webhooks along with things to think about to keep them secure.
Great to see data about the state of the PHP ecosystem. Thanks for compiling all the data and for the talk!
As always, the great Ben F'N Ramsey brought the knowledge and a fun story of doing open source.
I only made it through the first 20 minutes as it was just a sort of reverse cheerleading/dumping on old apis without much substance but full of enthusiasm without offering any reasoning or suggested traits. Perhaps the last 30 minutes followed the talk's description. Trashed SOAP without substantiating the claim as if all the developers in the room knew SOAP, xml, standards, etc were bad things because they were "complicated"
or solved more that their use cases.
