Getting an overview of available Comet technologies is great and it felt like a very thorough one, but I had hoped for much bigger PHP focus in a talk called "Implemententing Comet in PHP".
Good talk!
In retrospect I would have liked a "mobile web" part of the talk, because there are so many services possible for mobile phones with built-in GPS...
I would have liked to see and hear more of how you have implemented DDD in your project(s) and a little less about what the Domain Model is.
Also, I don't think that Ordo notation is a good way of describing how aggregates simplify the number of entity relations, as O(n*m) actually is the same as O(n^2), if I remember correctly. Next time just skip the Ordo and go with the m*n only!
Everyone but those in the front row probably did not see your drawings...
Really good talk. Really activated my thought process again after some less inspiring talks. It was too bad that this talk was at the end of the day instead of at the beginning because then I would probably have picked up some more.
Very refreshing! Well done!
I liked the talk very much, except for the glaring presentation template.
It was assuring (in a way) that he had the same experiences with automating Selenium tests as I have. (Need to sprinkle the tests with "sleep" to get them working, and maybe still not perfectly anyway.)
If there had been more time I would have liked to hear more about testability and handling of "legacy code", respectively.
4/5 because the talk did not end on time.
It was great to hear a speaker with a deep passion for his subject, but maybe too passionate sometimes?
The CLI bootstrap should have been prepared and made available to everyone before the talk.
I also appreciated learning the trick about preparing a string for unserialize to create an object of any given type... :-)
An excellent start of the conference days!
This keynote totally blew me away. Problem with that is that nothing during the day could come near this very entertaining talk.
Very well done and five stars well deserved!
You probably hadn't had enough time to cover the whole subject. The practical part went too quickly to follow so after a short while I decided to just watch it instead of trying to get it all working on my own laptop.
Also although I heard everyone talking about how doctrine is so much better to use as a ORM than other solutions, I can't say I am fully convinced. i would have loved to see more details on the capabilities of doctrine like dql and the query builder.
Didn't learn too much, some more examples should be better.
