Talk comments

I enjoyed the talk, but it could use some more structure overall, I believe.

Some very interesting bits I did not know about Nginx already. Would like to know why 'return 301 $url' is better than 'redirect $url permanent' though :)

Great introduction to something I did not use before, which is what this conference is about for me.

Good talk, sometimes a bit fast, but picked up some library names I surely will check out more.

Was a bit disappointed on this talk. Did not really pick up anything new. Speaker probably needed more research or expertise in the area.

Great talk from an inspirational speaker.

I think it was very courageous of you to do a presentation of a real life solution that you are responsible for and that caused you so many headaches. It is a never ending story if you have to deal with such amounts of data. It was really nice to hear about the many very practical decisions you had to make.

I once had the opportunity to help people dealing with similar (well, slightly smaller) amounts of data on the php side, and it was risky and fun at the same time, so I was very interested to hear how you went about. I also learned a few things. I do not think your presentation style was any worse than the average presentation style encountered on events like these and I don't care much, because you had something to say, and there: you said it. Thank you.

I liked the presentation style and the slides were clear. However, I think - but I realise this is a very personal point of view - that we should take for granted that seperation of concerns is important and good. That said, you could have demonstrated the simple examples real quickly. This would have saved you some time to dig deeper into where it gets hard to separate concerns or to give more examples of how you can accomplish that, when you should and when you shouldn't.

Joe is a tech enterpreneur and it's nice to hear from people who are where the action happens. I liked the numbers Joe displayed in his presentation, it's somewhat confronting and a real eyeopener.

I do believe mobile still has lots of potential ahead and I believe the numbers, but I don't think it will entirely replace web or desktop apps. There's still a difference between interacting with the internet from a mobile device (when you're away from your workstation) and actually doing productive work at the desk.

Good stuff, I want to see more presentations by Joe. Although a bit more stories would have been welcome. Sometimes there were a bit too much numbers.
