Matthew, let me just say that i really enjoyed your tutorial, we only got in at half time but were still able to (sort of) pick up. The only thing that could use improvement is the live coding examples. This could be overcome by making the tutorial some kind of assignment where you could hand out hard copy's so that we can fully grasp what we're doing. This of course can prove difficult for a big audience, but i think you can pull it off!
Chris, i think you should engage the people more during your tutorial. It was more of a presentation than an actual tutorial, it would be great if you printed out some assignments and we could all actually learn a little by doing it ourselves.
Thanks for taking the time to speak to us though! :)
Great introduction to nginx and Helgi showed some nice practical examples. Also included more in-depth content and examples, which is excellent and inspired me to go play with nginx soon
Nice talk! Make a lot of sense and cleared some stuffs
Great tutorial, but i could imagine that for a complete newbie it was a bit fast paced. Next time i should focus on explaining the source and give all the source in advance. I enjoyed!
Interesting case-study with interesting solutions. Speaker spoke a bit monotonous.
Great talk, the 45 minutes were to short! Probably next time it would be nice to show the differences with other search engines like Solr.
Thijs is a great speaker. Deeply knowledged and his presentation reflected that perfectly. Seeing the time, it wasn't easy to keep everyone's attention, but he handled it well!
Good te be reminded of things every developer should focus on daily. Matthew is always a great and pleasant speaker, keep up the good work!
As mentioned before, examples! Technical difficulties are easy to see through but things remained too abstract. Analyzing the DPC site on box model was a good idea, why not talk about their color schema, their fonts, and compare it to two other sites / applications?
Really did like your drive and the idea itself though.
