great talk, clear and a nice combination of both, sheets an hands-on demo.
Great and experienced speaker. Knows how to present information to others. Should have told at the start that the PHPPHP examples are there just for understanding how PHP works cause I think some did not understand the point of it at first.
Great talk, these are the kind of talks we want at DPC; Getting a better dev by listening to others. With enough information to start working with it. Did a MySQL upgrade today to start playing with the new features.
At DPC13 a lot of talks about caching en nginx, just like this one. A great overview. The SCL features look promising so will keep an eye on that. Great talks, made a clear point.
Maybe it is just not possible to cover BIG data AND various databases in 45 minutes (Wonder if he ever made the whole talk in 45 minutes). I like the topic and I like David for his expert knowledge, but he was not able to communicate it within this time-frame.
We can start to use this information at our company right away. The presentation was clear and nice to listen to.
