Ivo is a seasoned speaker and it tells. Clear slides and excellent delivery. As for the topic - lots of ideas to go home with. I've never profiled the average user journey to see how many API calls are being made to server e.g. the homepage.
One of the better talks of DPC13. Very fun, entertaining and interesting. Used good examples from his own experience, and showed some good code examples. And a lot of tips what to do, and not to do.
Nice presentation, just a bit too heavy on the 'crazy'. The 'what if PHP had macros' bits were recognisible, but, as said, the link with PHP could be bigger. We are at a PHP conference, right :).
Very nice keynote and inspiring talk. There was a very good interaction of the speaker with the public
Reasonable talk but you lost me at times.
Some examples of implementations appeared clumsy and unstructured.
I'm inspired to use more tools like this, but I didn't learn that much.
inspiring talk that was confusing at times and lacked a clear message.
Ranks in the top keynote's I've seen so far.
Good informative talk.
Did start out slow though, but it picked up after some time.
Way too many typos and spelling errors in the presentation. Mr Ennis may be a database expert but when it comes to explaining his ideas, he comes across as an enthusiastic amateur.
Rendering a map using PHP should not have as prominent a place in a presentation on BIG data as it did.
