Really interesting! Scott clearly knew what he wanted to present and it came out enthusiastic. Also it was nice to see some code examples and photos of the work environment. :)
Well prepared talk but the slides were a bit too small to present code on. I'd be helpful to upload the slides on beforehand so we could zoom in on laptop/tablet. Also there wasn't much time for questions. For example, I'd like to know if Stefan has used other frameworks as well, and whether he'd point out differences between Symfony and ZF, Codeigniter, etc. For the rest good, I might check it out soon! Good luck Stefan!
I didn't like this talk as much as others seem to do because of the way of speaking. She puts a lot of emphasis on certain words or uses a high pitch voice. I coudn't hear when something was important due to this. It'd be helpful if she thinks about how not-native speakers perceive the talk in terms of speed, use of sayings and slang. Just my two cents, sorry for being critical, but I'm sure it has something to do with language.
...or how to deal with adversity with panache! The tech problems in no way prevented Rowan from delivering an engaging, empathetic and humour laden talk, and a sign of his professionalism that he recovered the timing despite losing 10th minutes at the start.
Some very good points on quality, I agree with nbreems on the slides, and would ad that a few sections came down to lists, e.g the areas that improvement projects could be conducted in, where you might be better served by choosing just one or two and telling more of a story on how they might help, and just having the rest on a slide for the audience to read or refer to later.
It's always worth making space in your conference to see what Derek has to say; so many interesting insights from someone very much on the inside of the PHP ecosystem.
Well delivered talk, the speaker kept the audience engaged despite the potentially dry subject matter with ease.
Well positioned keynote; informative, relevant and inspiring.
Fantastic insight into scaling your team. Shiny big Facebook, wow! Cool demos, and excellent and engaging presentation style!
Language was a struggle, I guess. It'd be really helpful for Enrico to get some feedback from a native speaker. It could really make him improve his talks in the future.
