Great tutorial with a lot of opportunities to hack on code. I loved the fact we got to the point where everybody had set up his own pear server and we started building our own components. Shame we didn't get to the point when we could start interacting between each other components and converting old style components to the new "phix" concept. Wifi was the main drawback and left a few people behind, especially these with windows machines. Saying that everybody was asked to prepare upfront and it was said it all is very flaky on windows machines.
Stu delivered great tutorial with plenty of coding. It was good to be able to play with phix.
In summary:
Pros:
- tutorial with plenty opportunities of coding
- great concept
- well delivered
- bril handout
Cons:
- lack of network connectivity made it very difficult to progress
Good overview of security threats and examples of how to prevent them. Well delivered presentation but hardly a tutorial. I was more expecting a session during which we could have some opportunities of coding/hacking which would definitely make it more interesting. Saying that I have learned a few things which I will definitely have a deeper look in the future.
In short:
Pros:
- informative
- great idea to get everybody to introduce themselves
- code samples
- great overview of some of the security threats
Cons:
- more of a presentation then tutorial
- lack of proper interaction with code
- presentation was getting dry from time to time
Great party! Food was not too bad, had good talks with a lot of people and overall great fun!
I agree with the talking speed, it could have been a little bit slower since the audience wasn't all English. Good talk, you really know you're stuff and you brought it well.
Introduced well the ZF2 to me, but lacked involvment
For me personally, this was a great introduction in a framework that I haven't used before, but will be using in the near future. It was exactly what I expected and Stefan brought it well. Because I sat in the front I could almost read the code examples, but not quite. For me, it wasn't a problem because I could read some of it and Stefan explained it very well.
For me personally, this wasn't really a lot of new information. However, you kept my attention and the way you presented it was great! You should speak more often :)
Thanks for a great discussion. I'm curious how things will work out in the near future and how the board will pick up on these ideas.
Elizabeth, you're a good speaker, but this was just too much in too little time. Would like to see the full version one day!
Great talk, well delivered. Very inspiring. Nothing new was said, but this kind of reminder is always great. When it finished I was a bit disappointed as I wanted it to last at least another 10-15 mins!
