A really good introduction in to something I haven't used before, it's definitely got me thinking of how I can use this in future development.
Superb keynote and was the highlight of the day for me
Knowledgeable and passionate speaker. Has a great sense for both communities (PHP and HHVM) and emphasised not to take everything at face value and try for yourself. Good advice and if the other comments are anything to go by, well received.
Finally got to see "live" the man who's training videos started my certification journey, and was not disappointed, Ben is a top speaker and definitely knows his way around Magento.
Looking forward to see how M2 evolves!
Good overview of the major bits and bobs from 5.3+ though given 5.3 has hit EOL, more time could have been spent on the later version. Some of the parts could actually have been their own micro-talk, but seemed enough for people interested to go and investigate parts on their own.
As an aside, the slides may be enhanced by providing specific links to the respective documentation pages.
I'm sold after the talk, gonna try HHVM/Hack for sure, and soon! Sara is a blast to listen to, funny and full of information at the same time.
A++ would hear again.
Good humour, good topic and good delivery
Great talk and speaker. High energy & very inspiring!
Lots of tools mentions. nice to know that I'm on the right track.
Thanks
Best part of the talk was actually the last 10-15 mins for me, when Derick was discussing the potential future of xdebug where his interest seems to mainly lie (and why wouldn't it, some of possibilities are great), though in my opinion the build up to the future section came across as a long aside.
In addition, there was an somewhat dismissive-ness which sticks in mine with regards to PHPDBG, it could just as easily been omitted entirely and more time spent on the xdebug features.
