Great talk, like these non-technical talks a lot!
Really experienced speaker, lots of interesting thinks to take away.
It was an odd talk, but one I will remember. Not all specific points stuck with me, but I took from it that our live and job can use a bit of silliness from time to time. Monty Python is perfect for this comparison!
This talk was not what I expected, I missed some more introduction and context. Was very high level, didn't really understand the why of it all.
Great talk! Although it felt a bit too much like an introduction to designing at some parts.
I agreed with the fact that designer and developer should be included at project kick-off but not so much with having a basic knowledge of how designing (as a developer) works. Technology / tool usage advances so fast, you simply can't keep up with both 'departments'.
I think it's better to have some good collaborations tools / communication in place like you suggested.
Thanks for sharing some nice tools + demos!
Presenting skills were absolutely top notch!
Could not agree more with the first few pointers you listed (finish to start, divide every task into subtasks, make time for family, don't do too much hours, ...)
At the end of the presentation the following question was asked: "What about day to day work: do you schedule every (sub) task". I think this is hard to do, certainly if you work in a big office where things change very often, mails are coming in every few minutes or colleagues pass by your desk, etc ...
For me the presentation missed some info on how to deal with this.
Excellent talk! The lessons learned section is very valuable - i experienced some of your gotchas myself, and will now have to look into my applications to see if i risk running into those gotchas that were new to me. I hope you can share your slides?
A little bit of context of messaging could have been useful. What other tools exist, what is the reason to chose rabbitmq over others, or when to use something else?
I went to this talk without really knowing what Kafka was. This talk delivers into detailing what it is and how it can be used.
David has a very nice style of bringing a topic. Thank you!
I liked your talk and the way you bring up the security issues. The number game was nice, but the last part was too much (no one could have guessed that).
I liked the introduction to the credential manager, but as it lacks support in more browsers, it is very limited.
Overall this talk was well brought and the interactive part was a nice touch.
Great talk. Loved all the practical examples of value objects throughout the talk.
