It had its interesting parts, but it sometimes felt a bit like a wander down Memory Lane. It was nice to have something non-technical to allow my brain to recover though. I hope to get more deeply involved in open source projects in future! ☺
I really enjoyed Igor's style and the context of Valve's world tickled my gaming geek fancy.
I've not touched Node.js, so this was quite a tricky subject to really "get" - some more real world examples as we went along would have greatly helped I think. When I think of event-driven software, I think in terms of things like "onClick" and "onClose" handlers, but if that's what Igor was driving at, I didn't pick up on it. Maybe I was thinking of the wrong sort of events, in which case a clearer explanation at the start would be great.
Igor's clearly a smart guy who knows his stuff, making for a really credible presentation.
Excellent talk delivered at an appropriate level. Really enjoyed.
Superb talk about real world issues of scale. Excellent to be able to learn from others pain.
Best approch to mid talk hydration issues. Show cat videos. Other talkers can learn from that! We get bored when you pause to drink. Sad but true. Cats FTW.
Talk was well paced and it was good that the expectations were set up right at the beginning.
The talk's content was worth a longer full slot but would require a little polish before then and possibly a minor pace change to fit that arena.
All in all a good talk.
Excellent talk, very clear and to the point. Harrie seemed very knowledgeable and passionate in this subject.
Speaker was passionate but the pace and speaking style left me uninterested. A lot of reading from the slides.
As an unconference talk it worked well, good starter talk.
Great introduction to Composer, and it's definitely something I'm going to start using in my own projects. Lots covered in a very short amount of time!
A great introduction on the best practices for password and a sneak peak of PHP5.5 functionality.
Speaker had good pace and handled questions well.
Very interesting description of how much complexity is involved in a real-time data stream. There were a lot of ideas and concepts presented in a short amount of time, and it wasn't easy to keep up with it all. Having said that, I could have quite happily listened to the same amount of content with more explanation in a double-length slot.
