I am looking into using send framework and after listening to rob, I think ge has helped me settle on it fir my project.
Matthew did a great job. He obviously knows his stuff. Lorna did great as well. I liked the playful banter as they switched places. Looking forward to reading tons more on ibuildings.com
This was a good mix of theory and practical advice. I suspect that I will walk away doing somethign with Selenium in the weeks (or months) to come. The speaker did a good job of asking questions and engaging the audience.
Unfortunately, a few spelling errors (and, yes, German text, too) in addition to a technical glitch took a bit away from the presentation. However, I suspect that the posted presentation will have the spelling and German issues resolved, and, to be fair, these issues didn't distract too much from the great material.
I think this gave a very good overview on common OS's and their differences. Later, the speaker provided good hints on many gotchas.
I would say that the speaker's style is clearly explained, well grounded, engaging, and also very direct and informal. This style may not suit everyone, but the information was well worth the time.
I went into the talk not knowing exactly what to expect. Somewhere during this talk, I realized, "Hey, this guy is addressing some of those really nasty SQL problems I was working on a couple of months ago, and that's probably a way better solution!" I'm really looking forward to re-reading the slides and putting them to good use.
A good presentation covering some really tough (and let's face it, *DRY*) technical content, but the high value and importance in this discussion kept me interested.
This was one of those topics that I didn't know much about going into the presentation. Although this wasn't a particularly PHP-centric presentation (Python code was actually displayed), I realized afterwards that this XMPP technology could still actually be very useful and address some of the problems that I've been ignoring (even without using PHP to implement it).
This is one of those subjects that I have really, truly wanted to address over the last year or two. I went into the presentation with a lot of hopes ... and I left satisfied. This presentation covered both high-level management ideas and tips on technical implementation. This presentation didn't shy way from the details that I was hoping to get, and I'm looking forward to pick up from where Sebastian left off.
Thanks for all the comments everyone! I'm happy that it was well received, and I'll be updating the talk for future presentations to address some of the great feedback I've gotten.
I love top ten lists, and I really enjoyed this one, too. Some really great ideas where discussed, and I'm sure that I'm going to ponder these while I start a new RIA project over the next couple of weeks, which implementatation starting over the summer. The presentation was really fluid and engaging. Unfortunately, the "Top Ten" format has a problem, which is that I somehow feel at the end that I wanted more depth than what the quick fire nature of the style permits.
Not sure what I was expecting from the description. I learned a lot, but was expecting something else. Maybe just tweak the talk description.
