Best. Talk. Ever.
I remember the talk that Kevlin Henney gave at the DPC13 which was really inspiring as well, but you really surpassed that in every possible way.
If I should recommend any talk that was given at the ccxx13, then it would most definitely be this one!
I shaved several sheep, doesn't that says it all?
Once again I enjoyed your presentation. Good build up, nice flow, and easy to follow. Like Ross Tuck, and Lorna Mitchell, you inspire people to get better at what they do!
I think that internationalization is something not everyone thinks about when building their applications, which is really a shame! It's good to make people aware of this and help them in the right direction.
The only downside of this presentation: the Polish way of counting... But that's not something you can solve..
Very much enjoyed your talk! Positive energy, well used quotes from famous programmers and used good facts to give your statements more power. I like that!
Like others have already mentioned, the part about the differences between pens and notebooks is a bit too much. I liked the different techniques in taking notes though.
Thanks everybody for the feedback =) I will do my best to improve and learn with my mistakes. It was really a great experience, my first international conference talk, and I could learn so much with your feedback. <3
It's the second time I watch this talk, and I still got many cool insights and tips; was well presented and very interesting. It was a bit short, I think if you could add a "live demo" as you did in the first time it would be great.
I'm so sorry I did such a bad job answering questions :( Even after asking for the person to speak up I think I was answering a different question to the one I was asked! The DELETE verb isn't particularly special so if the user makes an invalid request you should return a 4xx code, if something goes wrong on the server side then send a 5xx code. DELETE is idempotent which means that repeated requests should return the same result, but better people than me have written plenty on this subject - in fact Ross shared a link on twitter about exactly this, which I recommend as a much more eloquent version of what I ought to have been able to express after my talk: http://evertpot.com/idempotence-in-http/
Like I said, didn't want to miss out on your talk. While still a bit sleepdrunk I managed to get in time for your awesome talk. I liked the way you explained the Mikado Method and the nice slides.
Maybe next time add some cheatsheet to your presentation, like Petra suggested. 'Cause I think that you only have much more awesome things to share.
