Perhaps too much info for the small time window, but overall very interesting.
Fairly good talk, covered a lot of things. Good to listen to, did not get boring :)
Eli is an excellent speaker; very clear and well researched. The topic very quickly went over anything I'll ever need to do, but it was fascinating to hear how the pros scale big sites.
This session worked quite well, but I felt that the questions for Andrei and Paul were not as well structured as the ones for Lorna. Also, I agree with Eli in that picking a couple of clear topics for discussion would have tied the interviews together. Ivo needs to talk more, but that's hard when you're competing with Cal on a roll!
The slide show running above their heads with Twitter and Flickr photos from the conference was very funny :)
Matthew managed to have me listen to him for a full day. After the workshop I was still energetic. The workshop gave me a confirmation that I am on the right track and that I understand the Zend_Form component more than I thought.
I wish I could have more lessons from the master himself. Anyway, his workshop gave me an extra motivation to go on muddling through, experimenting and maybe even contributing in the near future.
Thanks Matthew!
Was very interested in the status codes section and would have liked more time for the last few slides along with more use-cases. The section on methods felt a little similar to content covered in the REST talk, so could have been skipped through faster.
I enjoyed the talk. It was well presented, clear and I learnt something. Possibly slightly too much hard sell on YUI, but I completely agree that good docs make a framework usable. I also learnt stuff which was useful :)
Good stuff... really good upbeat keynote.
Very good talk highlighting techniques and pitfalls of utf-8 enabling your applications. Some of it obvious, other bits not so. Lots of info to take in but presented in such a way that it did not overload. Thanks!
A keynote as it should be :)
