This is a GREAT analysis of technical debt (take a look at the slides!) although IMO the speech did not add much value to the written contents.
Not the most entertaining talk, yet its contents (while it's true that could have been better exploited) are definitely valuable. It's always worth paying attention to what Derick has to say.
Interesting contents and great speaker.
Very good introduction to SCRUM, also one of the most interesting talk I've followed today. Lot of information shared in a short time without overloading the audience, good graphics too. good work.
good speaker good content. Especially since I followed Harrie twittering about his timing worries ;) My tips : shorten the intro about the need for versioning. To much slides about numbering etc. And if possible try adding a part about logic that lives in db's. I do know it is bad practize to have logic that has logic in db only but systems like drupal and wordpress 3 do use it. Same goes for stored procedures etc.
speaker was good. content made me go hrmmm a few times to much. Why use a scale from 0 to 1 to describe RGB values while most of the world uses 0 to 255. Same goes for method names and constructors. Cairo has potential but the API needs a more critical look
good speaker and content!
good points but Sebastian sounds a bit frustrated about the lack of unit tests in generated code. I guess he is workfield is more enterprise then mine. I do share his opinion about scaffolding but I never ran into trouble using a ORM like doctrine and I do write my queries in DQL using 1.x
he lost me in a few minutes. Like mentioned on twitter. I do believe Derick has the knowhow but I guess today was not his lucky day in speaking
Practical, straight to the point and nicely driven.
