Talk comments

Rowan is entertaining as always. The talk started with a few tangents before the real content kicked in, unfortunately the short talk slot meant we ran out of time and I think the audience would have liked to have asked some questions. Loved the social elements of actually making it happen and how to measure the business metrics as well as the technical aspects. Plus a live demo, nice job!

Interesting talk, didn't know about it.

Perfect - there could have been *more* openstreetmap though.

I also found the "State of the Oracle Union" overview valuable as I don't keep up with where they are and it was an excellent summary of where their tech is. It's a shame the synopsis in the pamphlet didn't include the information that it would be there like the website did.

If anything, the title was incorrect though as it implies a more generic talk than what the actual talk was, which concentrated on the features within Oracle that allowed for high performance.

This was a very interesting talk.

I liked the 'under the hood look at HTTPS' and the discussion of the algorithm (although I couldn't quite grasp it in the short time it was discussed).

If I could make a recommendation I would focus the talk more on a specific topic, like how does HTTPS work or what is PGP and how is it important or the role of signing in web services.

I had the chance to jump into the uncon track when no other talks were available. I was pleasantly surprised by this talk, which was definitely well prepared by the speaker. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Missed some samples and demos.

Great talk, good examples and explanation. I even got the math, and i suck at that.

Not too fond of this talk. It was very dry and quite HTTP centric. I missed some more information about Resources, Representations, Richardson's Maturity Model HATEOAS and how REST enables us to build Domain Application Protocols. If I hadnt already read a few books about REST before I probably still wouldn't know what its about or why it's cool.
