The presentation is good by itself, very informative and sufficiently detailed. Igor is a good and entertaining speaker, hats off to him.
Unfortunately, I did not understand what the point of presenting LISP on a PHP web conference was. I have done some programming in AutoLISP for AutoCAD in the past so that I'm pretty well acquainted with the language and I expected to see some examples as to how PHP could be enhanced with LISP techniques or something like that. My expectations were not met - the presentation was exactly about what the title describes. Should have attended another talk instead.
Good talk that does a proper job of explaining very nice features of Nginx. Learned a lot.
Very enjoyable talk with some far too familiar sittuations, unfortunately. With some valuable lessons to learn.
Great talk about using workers for your application! The demo was well put together and gave a clear representation of how queues and beanstalk works.
Interesting but was hard to follow if you're not familiar with some of the terms. Nevertheless well presented!
Great talk which clearly defines the responsibilities of your models.
Amazingly well done tutorial it was overall quick and educational. Except from exersise 6 and on I sort of gave up on actually doing the exercises myself. The exercises were great to begin with but after a couple of them you know what's going to happen and what to expect so the exercises were becoming more of a confirmation of theory rather than an actual exercise.
It gave me, as an experienced Magento developer, an even better insight on the internals of Magento. However as said by others we did run short and we had probably gone through too much theory for it to stick. Perhaps start with more practical examples and apply the theory while teaching it.
That being said; explaining Magento to people new to the Magento scene in 3 hours is no easy task.
You mentioned you wanted to do some pair programming in the next talk, great idea! Would love to see that happen!
Learned a lot. Julien proves he knows everything about the topic. All tough it was more some form of an extented talk instead of a tutorial, I found it very interesting.
A word of advice: make sure the attendees have the VM box on forehand. The wifi network is something you can't rely on.
And thanks for the tip of the leak in the new relic stuff. That explains why my server every now and then needs a reboot because of no free mem.
