Great idea for a small forum/discussion/burning man session :)
As noted: the format could use a little tweaking to keep everything going more smoothly. (also the statements made need a little refinement)
It did feel like a nice little intermezzo from the long and more 'monologue' type talks. (and as i said during / after the session: it's always a good idea to revisit the reasons behind the things we do daily and question them) Thinking outside the paved paths, static box and provoking fresh ideas is a _big_ plus!
Hope you guys can make the nationwide-meetup-roadtrip actually happen!
Great talk as an intro. I would have liked to go more in depth into the nitty gritty and 'stories from the trenches'-type stuff. In anycase, great speaker (clearly done this before) and again great talk!
Thijs is an tech enthusiast who can still encourage and entertain at the same time! From slides to the way he walked around. Clearly experienced and very much in the know on his subject!
(also i noticed the `elastic` clothing, nice touch!)
Funny start, but also a bit confusing giving every test a character. Luckily it became a lot clearer when you left the party.
Rafael is always a pleasure to listen to. Either during events like this when he's on stage or in indepth conversations or even as a fellow listener of others' talks / subjects. He knows his stuff.
What got me most during this talk: the intimate and (seemingly) undisclosed view into his personal life. The subject was indeed very intruiging and he brought it very well.
One of the most underrated parts of much of these conferences is the human aspect of our work. Rafael had good reasons for the talk and delivered it very well and i must say is the talk that stuck with me most.
I really enjoyed it and almost felt guilty of voyeurism. Kudo's to you sir!
I really have my doubts about the marketing part, but you both mention it.
We asked for an overview of PHP7, we got an overview of PHP7. Very nice way of presenting this lists of changes and new features.
Nice talk!
Can you syntax highlight the code/configuration snippets in the slides?
