This was an engaging and entertaining talk that I thoroughly enjoyed. As others have said it was quite focused in a particular area but the points made could be applied in many situations. Hopefully we'll see you speaking at more conferences in the future!
I hadn't realised before attending that this was actually a discussion rather than a talk, but I'm glad it was as what PHPWomen really need is more engagement. It was really good to get people thinking and contributing ideas about how the group could move forward. The challenge now is to see how this actually translates into reality.
This was an interesting talk, if delivered at warp speed. It would have been better if the content had been reworked for the shorter time slot, not least because Liz might have relaxed a bit more, but I still found it informative and will be looking up more on this subject.
Great talk, exactly the right length for the uncon track. Interesting use of the Twilio API and the live demo was risky, but worked!
Cannot thank Jonathan enough for introducing me to LiveDocx, a fantastic solution to PDF generation which is a problem that plagues so many people...
The presentation was brilliant. Jonathan was enthusiastic, included some very useful code samples and a great summary of key points.
It was interesting to see some of the alternatives to phpUnit and how they compare but other than that I didn't get much from this talk. It also wasn't as wide ranging as I was expecting from the title and outline.
Brilliant overview to the topic of data processing, especially interesting to see how some of the more intricate parts of the solutions at Smith's are implemented, and a nice look behind the scenes too.
I agree that this could've been a full presentation though, an hour on this would've been fantastic! :)
A nice intro to some of the newer features of ZF2 that I haven't had a chance to glaze over yet...
However, I did feel that some parts were rushed, and the questions were not quite answered, especially Mike's one about testing with mockup objects, which would've been an important point for me too.
Not bad overall!
An interesting talk. It was good to see some real life comparisons between google maps and osm, and great to see examples of what others have created using osm. Makes me think what I could use it for...
An excellent talk despite all the uninvited technical fale. In fact Rowan may be one of the few speakers who could recover from that and still deliver an engaging and well presented talk without being clouded by frustration or despair. I'm also looking forward to more interpretive dance at future conferences :-)
The talk itself though was well put together and very relevant to a lot of people, though it's possibly our least favourite subject. It pointed out mistakes that I have made and hopefully now won't make again!
