Talk comments

Very interesting talk, I really need to get into the subject when I have time. Paul definitly looked like the expert on the subject, but it also was a bit much for a complete Solr n00bie like me. It still feels like implementing Solr will be costy on my dev-time.

Although I do have lots of trust in APM and Pinba and also know these guys could give a demo that raises some oooohh's and aaahh's this time it was different. I'm sorry to say but I had hoped to see it all in action.

Very nice talk, I still really like the idea behind CouchDB and now my PHP is at the right version I will definitly have a look. Although as an improvement I could recommend using more real life examples of PHPillow and CouchDB so people will see how it works, what it does and how they can benefit from it.

excuse me, the above comment was mine ^_^

Great talk with a lot of humor and interesting tips.

Maybe a nice addition to the remark about the quiet working desk is a reference to the book "The Myth Of Multitasking" (http://www.amazon.com/Myth-Multitasking-Doing-Gets-Nothing/dp/0470372257).

It gives an insight in the thing we think is "multitasking" but really isn't. The book is full of tips and tricks to create a window of silence for you to do your work and not be disturbed by the 'evil' outside world.

Great talk, it covered the subject very clearly. I bet even Chuck Norris would like it.

Cal at his best. Inspiring and entertaining talk.

Sigh, I want to give 10 thumbs up, but 5 is the max.

Awesome speaker & talk!

I had a sneak preview of the slides for this talk and was still blown away by the whole thing. Great work Rowan :)

Not even halfway through yet and it's already awesome. I don't agree to the applicability of all of the points but the presentation as a whole is something every developer and manager should have seen.
