I echo other comments here. It was a great opinion talk on PHP, Node.js, nginx, event-driven development, frameworks, and all other things under the sun, and I enjoyed it from that perspective - but it was not what I expected. After hearing about node.js, I wanted to see it in action.
Have seen such talks before. And while you can't really learn some of this stuff until you use it yourself, a pretty good try from a demonstration viewpoint. Also, finally learned the diff between 'git rebase', 'git merge', and 'git merge --no-ff', thanks to some personal questioning.
Elizabeth is always a joy to listen to and a good speaker. Slides were very simple and elegant. The advice she gave for building up open source software communities and UGs apply to building ANY community. She gets an extra star for performing on 3 hours of sleep and 17 hours of flights and airports.
I really want to try out jenkins at work when I get time...tdd first though. Hopefully that issue will get fixed soon so you can get further with the demo next time.
Sounds like I won't have to overhaul my entire app at once hen swtching to zf2. Nice to hear about some of the changes. Good job, mwop.
Great presentation even without the disclaimer slide. I will definitely be looking at frapi when I get back to work.
Good presentation, even though it sounds like I probably won't be using it. Titanium just seems a little convoluted at the moment, even though the idea behind it sounds powerful (to the develoer). Anyone wanting to lock down their source or host their own updates should look elsewhere (for now).
Great talk on what to do (and not do), complete with examples from assorted project documents. I agree that php.net is one of the best doc sites, thanks to the community!
Excellent talk since I am in the market to start developing web services in the near future. Great concepts and presentation. Agree with everyone else...write a book!
Great talk, and great content. I like how he started with a very simple two-line solution to a requirements, and evolved the same feature as requirements grew - something that happens to all of us. Since MWOP is ZF lead, I can see a lot of what he talked about within ZF. Slides could have used a bit more design pop - would have shot this presentation thru the roof.
