I was pretty tired after two days of conference, but Elizabeth managed to keep me both fascinated and entertained during this inspiring closing keynote. A job well done, and a great way to end a conference.
Very nice talk, it really gave me a lot more insight in what's going on in mobile-land and how I could write PHP applications for mobile devices myself. I really liked the slides and the presentation as well. Extra kudos for showing an actual working application - albeit a simple one.
I liked the fact that this talk was a bit more advanced and in-depth compared to the average 101 "getting started" talk (I've seen enough of those by now :D). The contents was really good and the presentation was nice and relaxed. The way how Sander answered some of the questions from the audience proved to me that he really knows a lot about the subject.
I have to agree with the others on the code sample slides though, as they were way too dark and pretty much unreadable (even from the front row).
Besides that minor problem the overall talk was really good.
Knowing that you guys inherited this title and an impossible time frame of half a day for the tutorial just two weeks ago, I consider it an excellent session.
However there was some misunderstanding whether this would be a hands-on training or rather an interactive talk as it actually turned out. But as already said during lunch, the topic's range was just to much to do a get-your-hands-dirty session. You would just lose even more precious time in assuring that everybody could keep up and that everything would be working on the attendee's laptops.
A big bonus was the fact that we got to pick the topics that interested us and most of all, a working virtual image and the source files. So, this is a perfect start for further exploration. In my opinion, this fairly compensates for the fact that it was more an interactive talk as it was a hands-on session.
Nice subject, think SOA is a great concept.
Missed some architectural overview and would have loved some advanced examples.
Would have loved to see some details like MQ, REST, XML use etc.
Very interesting subject. I won't be using this on my current projects, but great to know about some of the possibilities.
Was a great talk, thanks!
3 people doesn't work... Too short... To much info to give!
My stomach was well filled the entire conference! Great work!
Had a really great evening!
Great talk, still processing :-)
Now on to the "ful" part in my own XML's.
Thanks!
