Very interesting talk; I learned a lot of new stuff and I'm definitely going to play around with traits a bit more. There was a bit too much code on the example slides though - maybe leaving irrelevant stuff out of the code examples or by explaining your point using a graphical representation would help to make it more clear.
Perfect keynote speaker! Entertaining, funny, accurate and informative all at the same time! David is a born talent and a has a striking presence on stage ... and if anything goes wrong, just blame the german :)
Interesting content, well presented (calm, clear) and nice slides.
Very interesting and on many points an eye opener. Problem is that kore and toby explained in detail what is wrong but no practical examples on how to make our apps utilize HTTP as it should.
Overall a very informative talk, I certainly heard some things that I wasn't expecting and certainly didn't know, that's why i'm coming to conferences, so thumbs up!
Funny and very inspiring talk, really suitable for a closing keynote. I enjoyed every bit of it.
An overview that barely scratches the surface of a very difficult topic, I think almost every webdeveloper more or less knows what security flaws there are so would benefit more from practical examples on how to detect and fix then rather than an overview of tools without any pracical implementation or usecases. A bit disappointed but there's potential.
Fluent style and striking presence on stage which results in a truly motivational talk. Super!
Thanks for the feedback people. This was my first large scale talk and the nerves caught me the moment i set foot on the stage, making my English truly bad. But i did it and hopefully get the chance to continue.
Even though this was my first talk i must say i really appreciated you as an audience, having patience and respect for the one on stage! Kudo's to you all!
Good introduction but I expected more from a workshop/tutorial than watching slides and some code samples, more hands-on would be desirable.
On the other hand, you can't get a higher profile than matthew to give this talk. The quality of the talk was as always high and easy to follow.
Wow! When this talk was done I felt like I was hit by an information avalanche! My god this was a lot of information to take in in one hour, and since most of it was new to me (I already used VIM but only the very basic stuff) trying to remember everything meant I simply couldn't pick up any more information after about 30 minutes.
When doing a VIM talk it's probably impossible to satisfy everybody in the room when the audience consists of both beginner and experienced users (since just covering the basics would probably already take like 8 hours). However, I think the main purpose here was to get more people to start exploring of the features of VIM and that's exactly what I'm going to do after I've seen this talk - so I'd say job well done :-)
