Talk comments

You are not only a speaker but also a comedian on stage. Great keynote, very entertaining! I loved the way you interacted with the audience and kept everyone awake. That is a special talent because I think most of us were really tired by the end of these two fantastic days of conference.

There wasn't a lot of new things in the talk, but this is an important topic and you gave a good overview. Itś good to be reminded of it.

I agree with the speaking comments: try to talk more fluently, the "staccato" way of talking during the presentation wasn't always nice to listen too. But I guess this is down to practice and the language barrier. Hope you get the chance to practice more often, you did a great job on stage!

Good talk Nick, I could tell you knew what you were talking about. Too bad you got lost at some points, maybe some rehearsing next time would be better. I would loved to hear you tell more about the advantages and disadvantages of using traits and put them next to each other. I think the structure of the talk could use some work. If you want someone to help, you know how to contact me :)

This was one of the best talks of the conference for me. I know my way around vim but I didn´t know there is so much you can do with it. Thanks for showing us Matthew! Too bad you ran out of time. This is definitely tutorial material!

One suggestion:
The keystrokes add-on you had in the upper right corner was well thought of, however because you were typing really fast, I couldn't follow it from the back of the room. It wasn't a big problem since you told use the key shortcuts in advance.

Great slides and a very good talk. Although I knew most of it, it can't hurt to be reminded of some things once in a while. You are a very good speaker and I loved seeing you dance (or something like that) on stage :)

One comment on the content for improvement:
It wasn't always clear to me how the first part of the presentation was build up. The estimation during the sale process was very obvious, but how to estimate when the project starts, especially when you use a waterfall method instead of agile, wasn't very clear.

Loved the way you showed examples from before (using arrays) and after (mostly using SPL) and advantages and disadvantages of both approaches. I will definitely look again at your slides and I will present it at our company so everyone can learn! It wasn't academic like your intention was so the message came through.

I agree with the other comments that presentation skills can be improved. However, that didn't bother me in receiving the message you wanted to sent. Well done!

Great talk. I had seen it at phpnw last year and it was again very inspirational.

Great tutorial, loved the real world examples too.

One note though: try to change words sometimes, you said "take this into account" very often.

Very good presentation!

I appreciated learning some internal details concerning the PHP arrays.
Was a bit scared to learn what a stack is for and having yet another SPL talk... But that was not the case at all! Thumbs up!
