I agree with the other anon comment. While the concept of streams is great. The approach to showing the technology is less than informative. For instance, phar does. and glob: does, but not making it actually trigger a real world "use case" is nothing more than reading the manual.
A great overview of event and signal programming. I do wish there was some code samples, but with the time constraint, I understand why it was omitted. I always enjoy talks Elizabeth's talks and is a must tend for everyone
Interesing talk as it can be applied not only to temporal systems, but other snapshot designs as well.
Very helpful talk on benchmarking. Theories apply into other areas of estimation as well
Speaker was great! One of my favorites of the conference.
Great one!
Can you please post the slides?
Great presentation, keep audience entertained at the same time keeping on track with the topic at hand. I would certainly rate as one of the best presentations of all the sessions I attended.
Great talk, especially for people that thought they knew what REST meant. Great use of humor to move the talk along. Live editing of slides slowed it down and interrupted the flow though.
For those of you that were not looking specifically at the native landscape; I've researched some additional information:
Appcelerator supports iPhone Push Notifications: http://developer.appcelerator.com/apidoc/mobile/1.0/Titanium.Network - see registerForPushNotifications
Phonegap does not seem to support any push notifications but they do have a notification class. However; you can accomplish push notifications through Urban Airship in PhoneGap: http://wiki.phonegap.com/w/page/41670190/Push Notifications on IOS
Hopefully that helps!
