thanks Jonas. We now have a better sight about Comet within a context where we know our way.
It was nice to hear of far we are from a release, what/when we could expect, what could be used already in ZF1 so we can prepare to a smooth transition to ZF2. Emphasis on PHP 5.3 has been heard, and yes we will switch soon to it (in weeks, before summer). Thanks Rob.
I enjoyed this talk, I had no spare time to invest in research into this topic. Now in 45 minutes I learned quite a lot and I feel ready to start tomorrow with a project. Why didn't I did this before?
I liked it. And yes, really, we deserve better managers. We are worth it. And I totally agreed when you said that it was *our* responsability for the perception other people could have of us. We have to maintain our image.
I do not use Git and I feel a little bit trapped by the first word of the title 'Practical'. So, if I want to start using Git I have to learn it the hard way : experiment. Or learn it from another place. The fancy slides are very nice, but I felt seasick after a while ;-)
Great talk, in-depth and well prepared, the in-browser slides looked very slick. Good use of humor, especially svn bashing and "ZE GERMAN" rules. Strong on content as well, no bullshit introduction where it's stated you already know what you're doing with Git in a basic way, saves time explaining the fancy stuff.
I liked this talk because Rob didn't say way we had to do, but what be should not do. That's a change ;-)
Good talk, a bit too 'easy' on the techniques, and the tag-teaming didn't work for either presenter, Tobias previously did a lot better when he was on stage by himself.
The abstracts sketched the wrong picture of what the talk was going to be about, also the subject was a bit off-topic for a PHP conference, so many people, including myself, felt a bit cheated, there probably where more interesting talks going on at that moment. Bram was also noticeably new and uncertain about presenting, this is not a bad thing, but improvement is very welcome, specifically the flow of the talk, don't pause for more than a few seconds, and try to engage the audience a bit more.
The presentation could have been delivered better but I found the content interesting. I was keen to know more on Solr and search solutions so can take away from this some good starting points from this presentation.
