This opened my eyes to the possibilities of using GitHub for project management and discussion about more than just code. I'm a big fan of reducing the number of tools that you have to deal with, and Liz gave a compelling case for standardizing on GitHub.
Very inspiring. Really loved the pictures from Greenland. Also, lots of common sense and pragmatism.
A nice look at the history of tooling around PHP, with a good takeaway message. Well delivered and overall a great talk.
I liked this talk, and I liked the specific examples he showed, but I felt like it could have moved a bit more quickly. It would have been cool to see another example of refactoring in action with real code.
Superb demonstration of gathering application metrics. I look forward to hearing more about the service / tool that's being built to mine GitHub data. Only downside was a lack of examples for how to use metrics and some best practices about communicating metrics within an organization.
This was a great overview of dependency injection, why it matters, and how to do it effectively. Paul is a great speaker and did an excellent job with what can be a complex subject.
A good message, delivered well, and an engaging talk. I really enjoyed the stories that Rowan told, and the specific examples that he gave to make his points.
