Various solutions to the "push" issue were presented, along with their disadvantages. This was very informative. Cometd was presented just at the end of the talk, more as a add-on than as the heart of the talk.
I attended this talk before at php benelux. I just went to see it again because it is so interesting. A pitty that we usually have to code things that conform to the mainstream: Google Maps.
An Idiot's Guide to OAuth.
From the description I (and others) had expectations that were quite different from actual content. But I must admit, it was otherwise a well prepared presentation.
Really nice talk. Good highlighting of the flexibility of Zend Framework. The fact you didn't have to change the code since 2007 probably explains why you didn't remember how the commandline parameters had to be specified. Although this wasn't harmful to the point you were making about the flexibility of ZF, I think storing the commands in a sample usage section in your help text view would help your next presentation, and your friend who is going to make our phones ring.
Sebastian may not be the most charismatic of presenters but there is one thing you can't deny: he knows his stuff! And he also knows how to prepare a presentation. An inspirational talk leaving me with lots of homework.
A nice introduction, since I knew hardly anything about Solr. Not really focussed on how to use Solr from php. Almost a business perspective, because a lot of time was spent explaining why you would or would not need solr. Not much personal energy in the presentation style.
I wouldn't say there were any "hidden gems" revealed during this talk but it more or less delivered what it said on the tin.
Absolutely brilliant.
Really interesting talk. I now understand the process better. Didn't yet get the math, by brain is just no so fast. But thanks anyway.
